New HQ at the Hertzstraat
Pan Oston moves into a new modern headquarters and merges its activities under one roof. After the first kick started in July 2018, the project was completed at breakneck speed. The official festive opening was on 24 May at the high-profile location on Hertzstraat 1.

Awards and renewal
The design of De BLUE FIRE Prime is rewarded with a Red Dot award. Meanwhile, the BLUE FIRE family is also expanding with the introduction of the Fast Order, which focuses on QSR, and the Compact, the smaller brother of the Prime.

The BLUE FIRE family
The BLUE FIRE brand, focused on kiosks, is launched. As a result, Pan Oston will focus more on the self-service and kiosk market in addition to cash register and self-scan solutions.

South Africa
Pan Oston's international ambition is reflected in the first deliveries in South Africa. In the meantime, the activities have expanded to such an extent that there is an official production location on the southern continent where Raalte works closely together.

Expansion in Germany
In addition to the Netherlands and Belgium, Pan Oston moves its activities to Germany too. Sales and delivery of products in Germany start in 2011 and the Pan Oston GmbH is established.

Introduction of the Element
Pan Oston introduces the ELEMENT checkout series. A cash register furniture according to a modular design that can no longer be ignored in the Retail landscape. Even after 10 years of development, ELEMENT is still up-to-date and very popular with supermarkets, DIY stores, garden centers and Cash & Carry companies.

Expansion in Raalte and the UK
The activities in the UK are further expanded with a local representation. The location in Raalte has now become too small. Premises are being rented across the street where the assembly and warehouse are moving.

The Netherlands continues independently
Pan Oston B.V. The Netherlands continues independently. As a result, the entire production and the office moved to Raalte, in 2000 the Dutch cash register producer Kamphuis was bought to serve as a local production location. This made Pan Oston a 100% Dutch company in one fell swoop.

Introduction of the Access
The Access checkout, specially developed for the supermarket sector, is being introduced to the market. The Pan Oston locations in Canada, America, the Netherlands and Malaysia focus entirely on checkouts.

How it started
Seppo Halttunen starts a metal company in Finland under the name Halton. This will later be the basis for the current Pan Oston. He starts with the sale and production of packaging machines and checkouts and in 1987 opens his first foreign branch in Canada.
