POIESZ IS GROWING AND MODERNISING

Supermarket chain Poiesz has experienced substantial growth in recent years. In the anniversary year 2023, which celebrated its 100th anniversary, sales increased by no less than 17 per cent. Poiesz's growth ambitions have by no means ended there. The focus is on further strengthening its position in its market area in the north of the Netherlands. In 2024, several new branches opened in Drenthe, Groningen and Friesland locations. In part, these supermarkets were taken over from Plus/Coop and have been radically rebuilt in a short period of time into ultramodern shops that comply with the Poiesz formula principles.

MORE ROOM FOR SELF-SERVICE

During the fit-out and conversion, an explicit focus was placed on modernising the checkout area, creating a lot of space for self-service in addition to traditional belted checkouts. Pan Oston has been Poiesz's regular supplier of checkout systems for years and has the flexibility and capacity to respond quickly. As a result, an optimal mix of belted checkouts and self-service checkouts can be created and delivered for each branch in consultation with Poiesz.

SUSTAINABLE REDEPLOYMENT OF CHECKOUT EQUIPMENT

Some Plus/Coop branches were refurbished relatively recently before Poiesz acquired them. The Coop and Plus check-out furniture, which Pan Oston had also supplied, was therefore partially refurbished by Pan Oston as part of a sustainability effort. The modular construction of the Pan Oston self-checkouts and cash registers makes them adaptable to Poiesz's formula and house style and equipped with the right hardware, such as screens, scanners, printers, and pin machines. This allows belted checkouts and self-checkouts to be redeployed in a sustainable way.
