In the course of 2023, HEMA has started the rollout of a new retail shop concept, with the aim of turning HEMA into 'Real HEMA' again. With high-quality products at attractive prices that are made to last. The HEMA shop in the centre of Hilversum, which has been located at Kerkstraat 29 since 1930, was the first to be refurbished under this new concept. And, of course, this shop has been remodelled with sustainability in mind and an extra focus on sustainable products.
As part of the new HEMA shop concept, Pan Oston developed a new checkout area for this pilot store in Hilversum in close cooperation with HEMA. We are proud that HEMA has chosen the innovative proposal Pan Oston's design team has developed, which ties in perfectly with the design language of the new shop concept.
On the ground floor, you will find a central area starring seven self-checkouts, complemented by two staffed checkouts that also serve as service counters. On the first floor, another self-checkout area has been created with four self-checkouts and a compact additional service counter. This allows customers to pay for their purchases quickly and easily at any time.
The result is impressive. On both the ground floor and the first floor, a spacious, clear checkout area has been created in a pleasant, balanced colour scheme, where you can easily find your way to the checkouts, wrap presents or return purchases.
HEMA's new shop concept will be rolled out over a two-year period, so you will start to see Pan Oston's HEMA-branded self-checkouts and service counters at more and more HEMA shops in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
Pan Oston's checkout solutions are suitable for many different retail concepts thanks to their modular and flexible design. Are you curious to know what they can do for your shop? Our team of specialists is ready to help you think about and optimise all customer interactions in your shop.
