What started as a small shop in Enkhuizen in 1993 has become a European discounter giant less than 25 years later and seems not to stop being popular. Action has broken many growth records in recent years and even managed to keep up the momentum during the corona pandemic. With the opening of its 2,000th store in Europe last week, the non-food discount chain once again shows what it is capable of.
Pan Oston experienced the rapid growth of this discounter from close by and supports the organisation in the questions surrounding the conversion or new construction of the checkout zone. Traditionally it started with checkouts, but since 2020 Action has also made the step to self-checkouts and after extensive testing, we see them in more and more shops. So far, the counter stands at 10,000 checkouts and 1,000 self-checkouts.
Installing a shop is a job where every moment counts. Pan Oston, together with Action, has therefore developed a more efficient way to install the checkout zone quickly and easily. This way, we offer optimal support for the logistical process. Through good planning, Plug&Play installation and logistical support, we managed to get the checkout zone ready for use in one day.
