Berlin, Raalte, Baar, 1 July 2026 – 4POS (Switzerland), Pan Oston (Netherlands) and migrasys (Germany) are strengthening their long-standing successful collaboration by joining forces also on a corporate level. The merger creates a powerful European alliance that offers the retail sector in-store technology, fulfilment and services from a single source.
The companies 4POS and Pan Oston, which form the Pan Oston Holding, are becoming shareholders in Berlin-based IT service provider migrasys. This expanded partnership aims to further develop their combined expertise in consultancy, planning and processes relating to the point of sale and to provide even more comprehensive support to customers throughout the entire technology lifecycle.
With about 150 permanent employees, migrasys is one of the leading fulfilment and IT service providers of the German retail sector. The company supports retail businesses nationwide with roll-out, installation, maintenance and servicing of modern in-store technologies, ranging from POS systems and self-checkout solutions to digital signage, network and communications technology. The company’s clients include some of Germany’s largest retail groups.
migrasys is already working closely with the Pan Oston Holding. As a service and fulfilment partner, the company is tasked – among other things – with the assembly and staging of new devices, in particular self-checkout solutions, which 4POS as a market-leading supplier of POS hardware in German-speaking countries delivers to major retail companies.
At its sites in Berlin-Wedding and Schönefeld, migrasys works on 6,300 square metres of logistics, production and service space. Every year, thousands of systems are prepared there for use in retail stores. In 2024 alone, about 8,000 devices from various manufacturers – including self-checkout terminals, POS systems and digital signage units – were pre-configured and assembled for installation in retail outlets.
Furthermore, migrasys is one of the leading partners for large-scale roll-out projects in retail for self-checkout systems, retail media solutions and digital customer communication.
Thanks to the closer alignment of the expertise of 4POS, Pan Oston and migrasys, retail companies will in future benefit from end-to-end processes, ranging from consultancy and planning through to hardware provision, installation, maintenance, service and lifecycle management.
With their strong sales organisation, high market penetration and long-standing customer relationships, the partners collectively have exceptional reach in Europe’s key retail markets. This foundation will be utilised in future to strategically develop the service portfolio and gradually expand the collaboration beyond the German-speaking markets.
At the same time, sustainability is becoming increasingly important. The companies aim to systematically expand their expertise in refurbishment, reprocessing and remarketing of hardware. By extending product life cycles and implementing sustainable service processes, they aim to support retail companies in using technology more economically and conserving resources.
“With this merger, we are creating a high-performing European alliance that combines technological expertise, operational excellence and extensive market reach. Together, we will be able to support our customers even more comprehensively in future, whilst further expanding sustainability services such as refurbishment and lifecycle management. In doing so, we are laying the foundations for further growth and new opportunities in Europe,” says Toni Jacob, Managing Director of migrasys.
“Our collaboration with migrasys has proved exceptionally successful over many years. Through this investment, we are combining our strengths even more closely and creating a comprehensive range of services for our customers, from POS technology to fulfilment and service. At the same time, we are strengthening our position in Europe and opening up new growth prospects for all companies involved,” says Rolf Thomann, Board Member of Pan Oston Holding.
For customers and staff, the continuity of the existing business relationships remains assured. All three companies will continue to operate independently on the market, retaining their brands, locations and existing management and staff structures.
As part of the reorganisation, migrasys is also undergoing a planned generational transition. Company founder Frank Jacob is handing over operational management to his son Toni Jacob, who has been part of the management team since 2024. Frank Jacob will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity and contribute his many years of experience to its strategic development.
